John Woo is God. That said, I will admit it's taken him a couple
films to warm up to things here in America. Hard Target and
Broken Arrow are nothing compared to his Hong Kong films
like The Killer and Hard-Boiled. But with Face/Off
Woo has more than warmed up, he's ignited. This tale of an
FBI agent (John Travolta) who switches faces with a crazy terrorist-for-hire
(Nicolas Cage) is one of the best action films ever made in America.
Travolta and Cage are perfect at adopting each other's mannerisms,
and the never-predictable script provides Woo some of the best
drama he's ever worked with. Explosive, emotional and completely
riveting--this one's a total barn-burner!
