Of all the films I saw this year, this is the one I just couldn't shake out of my head. This four-hour-plus tale of a ghost-filled Danish hospital positively haunted me (no pun intended, honest). I didn't get to see director Lars Von Trier's new film Breaking the Waves, which bounced off the top of many top 10 lists, so I've got to include this one. Technically speaking, The Kingdom was shot several years ago as part of a television series, but anything that mixes equal parts "E.R." and Poltergeist deserves my vote.
