The Nurse

I wasn't even gonna watch this movie 'cause I'm so sick of direct-to-video "thrillers," but I have to admit, the damn box was just too intriguing. So I stuck the thing in my VCR expecting the worst. After a preview for some sort of techno music commando raid movie, our feature presentation kicked in, and I gotta say, I found myself snortin' and hootin' despite (or rather because of) the atrocious TV-movie storyline. Lisa Zane plays the titular character, whose daddy is publicly humiliated by corporate boss Bob Martin. Lisa's pop weeps to her over the phone, then shoots his wife and son, finally putting bullet No. 3 into his own skull as remarkably fast-driving Lisa watches in horror. Developing a twisted Bruce Wayne Syndrome, Lisa vows revenge--but what she doesn't know is that her pop was embezzling from Martin, who didn't want the story to go public (he's really a swell guy, y'see). When Martin hears of the murder/suicide, he has a stroke and is left paralyzed and mute. Lisa lurks in the bushes near Martin's house, finally murdering the old man's private nurse. Can you guess what she does next? That's right! Once firmly ensconced as Martin's new nurse, she torments the helpless guy by telling him what she's gonna do to his family, then proceeds to slaughter them one by one. The flick also features the eternally weepy-looking John Stockwell as Martin's horny son, who seems to forget he's in a movie at one point when he stares longingly at his sister's butt! I can't believe I'm doin' this, but I have to recommend this movie--I mean, c'mon, besides all that other cool stuff, it concludes with an extended catfight between Lisa Zane and Janet Gunn!
