Shakespeare leaps into the 20th century with this decidedly mod version of his classic romantic tragedy. Australian director Baz Luhrmann (Strictly Ballroom) turns up the rock-and-roll and dumps the doomed lovers into modern-day art deco-drenched South Beach, Florida, but leaves the Bard's lines as is. Freaky but cool.
