Tin Drum

Weekly Alibi

DIRECTED BY: Volker Schlondorff

REVIEWED: 12-11-96

A newly struck print of the bizarre, often grotesque 1979 West German epic based on the bizzare, often grotesque novel by Günter Grass. Little Oskar (David Bennet) decides to stop growing up as the Nazi rise to power in Germany. The boy expresses his outrage at the sins of the adult world around him by banging on his toy drum. He can also etch glass with his voice. You figure it out.
